Galaxy A37 5G vs Galaxy A57 5G: what $110 more buys
Both have a 6.7-inch 120Hz screen and six years of updates. Here is what the A57's extra $110 adds on paper: chip, RAM, ultra wide camera, weight, and what it skips.

The Galaxy A57 5G costs $110 more than the A37 5G at regular prices, and on paper that money buys a faster-class chip, more RAM at the base storage, a higher-resolution ultra wide camera, a different screen type and 17 grams less weight. It does not buy a bigger screen, a bigger battery, faster charging or a longer update promise. Those are the same on both phones.
The maker listed the A57 at $599.99 and the A37 at $489.99 on October 15, 2026, both for 128GB. Neither had a sale that day. Both launched on April 9, 2026, the A57 at $549.99 and the A37 at $449.99, so Samsung raised each price by $50 and $40 after launch, and the gap grew from $100 to $110.
What is identical
Both phones have a 6.7-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both carry a 5,000 mAh typical battery and charge at up to 45W over a wire. Both are rated IP68 and have a 50MP main camera and a 5MP macro camera.
Updates match too. Samsung promises up to six generations of Android and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates, and the samsung.com/us Specs tab puts the end at March 31, 2032. If you are paying for the A57 because you think it will last longer, the spec sheet does not say that. For how this compares with other brands, see how long phones get updates.

Chip. The A57 uses the Exynos 1680 and the A37 the Exynos 1480. Samsung lists both as octa-core parts, but we have no benchmark numbers and will not guess how much faster the newer name is. On paper it is the newer generation.
RAM. The A57 lists 8GB. The A37 lists 6GB with 128GB of storage and 8GB with 256GB. If RAM matters to you, that changes the math: the 256GB A37 is $609.99 and the 256GB A57 is $679.99, a gap of $70 instead of $110.
Screen. The A57 has a Super AMOLED+ panel and the A37 a Super AMOLED panel. Size and refresh rate are identical. Samsung's listing does not give a brightness or resolution gap that we can quote here, so treat this as a label difference rather than a promise of a better picture.
Ultra wide camera. The A57's ultra wide is 12MP and the A37's is 8MP. The main and macro cameras match. Megapixels are a weak guide to image quality, so this is a modest on-paper edge.
Weight. The A57 weighs 179 grams and the A37 196 grams. That is 17 grams, about the weight of a few coins, over a phone you hold for hours.
What the A57 gives up
Carrier support is the one place where the cheaper phone is ahead. Samsung sells the A37 on samsung.com in Unlocked, Verizon and T-Mobile versions, and AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile are all marked as supported. The A57 is marked as supported on AT&T and T-Mobile, but Verizon support is not confirmed. Samsung.com offers only the Unlocked A57.
That does not mean the A57 fails on Verizon. It means we cannot say either way. If Verizon is your carrier, read will an unlocked phone work on Verizon and check your exact phone before buying. The same applies to any unlocked versus carrier choice.
On SIMs, the A57 lists a nano-SIM plus an eSIM. The A37 lists the same and adds that dual eSIM is supported.
Who should pay the $110
Pick the A57 if you want 8GB of RAM without buying the larger storage tier, you prefer a lighter phone, or the newer chip generation matters to you for keeping the phone six years. Pick the A37 if you are on Verizon, want the lowest regular price, or would rather put $110 toward a case, a charger or a protection plan.
If neither phone fits, the Galaxy A17 5G is the cheaper Samsung option, and best phones under $500 covers the rest of that price band. For a way to compare cost against years of support, see price per year of updates.
The short version
The two phones share a screen size, a battery, charging speed, water rating and a six-year update promise. The A57 adds a newer chip, 8GB of RAM at the base tier, a 12MP ultra wide, a Super AMOLED+ label and 17 fewer grams. The A37 adds confirmed support on all three major carriers and a $110 lower price. Everything here comes from Samsung's published specs, not from using either phone.
